The fall 2025 Parent and Family Weekend coincides with the new ASUI Joe Vandal statue unveiling.

On Saturday, Nov. 8, parents, family members, alumni and students are invited to participate in all-day activities, culminating with the home football game against the University of California, Davis.

The ceremony revealing the Joe Vandal statue will begin at 2:30 p.m., according to Jamie Wagner, the senior director of marketing and communications for the UI Foundation.

The program will open with remarks from ASUI President Seyi Arogundade, sculptor Gareth Curtiss and UI President Scott Green. At 2:45 p.m., the statue will be revealed.

The statue will be located east of the P1FCU Kibbie Dome and the ICCU Arena, next to Red Lot #34. UI Facilities have placed a chain link fence around the selected location.

The Vandal tailgate before the football game will begin at 2 p.m. in the ICCU Arena plaza, with food from local vendors, music, giveaways, games and more. The event is free and open to the public.

At 3 p.m., the Vandal Marching Band will arrive and parade through the tailgate area.

The football game against UC Davis will begin at 4 p.m.

Other Parent and Family Weekend events will include friendship bracelet making at 9 a.m. in the Alumni Relations office in Hays Hall; the annual Cornhole Tournament at 11 a.m. on the Theophilus Tower Lawn; campus tours; and a scavenger hunt at 1 p.m. beginning at the Pitman Center.
