The University of Idaho’s Rangeland Center will be holding the 2025 Rangeland Fall Forum on Thursday and Friday, Oct. 2-3, in partnership with the James A. and Louise McClure Center for Public Policy Research. The event will be held at the Nancy M. Cummings Research, Extension and Education Center in Salmon, Idaho. The forum is open to the public.
The annual Rangeland Fall Forum aims to address the changing methods of management of rangelands. This year’s forum will employ a combination of interactive panels and hands-on activities to learn about how rangeland stewards are integrating modern technology and ideas into their craft.
The panelists will include Tip Hudson, the host of “The Art of Range” podcast and Washington State University Extension specialist; Tori O’Neil, rancher; Paul Wolf and Colby McAdams, from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service; and others.
“This year’s fall forum is an opportunity to share the latest tools and explore emerging policy approaches with a community of practitioners from across Idaho,” said Katherine Himes, director of the McClure Center in a Sept. 9 press release.

The Rangeland Center was established in 2011 by the Idaho State Legislature to combat modern challenges faced by Idaho’s rangelands and dependent communities. The McClure Center opened in 2007 and works to inform public policy and dialogue through evidence-based research and engage students on conservation issues. The Argonaut previously reported on the McClure Center’s cover crop extension trial.
