The University of Idaho Education Abroad Fair will be held in the ISUB Plaza on Wednesday, Sept. 10, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. A dozen organizations, including study abroad program providers and campus departments, will be in attendance. Education abroad staff at the event will be available to help students identify programs of interest based on academics, location and more.
Laurel Meyer, Education Abroad advisor and outreach/marketing coordinator at UI listed the benefits she sees students gain from studying abroad in an email to The Argonaut.
These include “building confidence, self-awareness and intercultural skills … and standing out to graduate schools and future employers,” wrote Meyer.
Education Abroad in the International Programs Office helps students with program search and selection, program applications, scholarship applications, course selection and approval, visas and pre-departure logistics.

“The first step to studying abroad is attending [a] First-Time Info Session,” said Meyer. First-Time Info Sessions are offered most Mondays at 3:30 p.m., Tuesdays at 2 p.m. and Fridays at 1:30 p.m. Those interested can sign up for sessions online at futurevandals.uidaho.edu/portal/eainfosessions/1sttime.
