Nick Davis of Sewanee University joined the Idaho Vandals’ women’s soccer team as the new goalkeeper coach on Wednesday.
With the 2025 season just around the corner, the Vandals needed a replacement after former goalkeeper coach Neal Ozmun left the Vandals for the University of North Texas earlier this summer. Head coach Jeremy Clevenger found his goalkeeper coach all the way from Tennessee when he hired Davis to fill the role Ozmun left.

Davis comes to the Vandals after a successful season at Sewanee University, where the Tigers recorded 14 shutouts and allowed only six goals all season.
“I am extremely excited to be joining the Vandals coaching staff,” Davis said in a press release from Vandal Athletics. “I want to thank Jeremy for giving me this opportunity to be part of an amazing program that has shown incredible success over the past few seasons. I can’t wait to join and contribute to this special Vandal family and I look forward to bringing more championships to Moscow.”

Davis, a Spokane native and graduate of Lewis and Clark High School, was a goalkeeper and kicker for the Tigers’ football team.
After high school, Davis, with an aspiration for coaching, went overseas and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Football Coaching and Development from Plymouth Marjon University in Plymouth, U.K. While there, he coached club athletes and got his coaching start before landing a coaching job at Wheaton College.
Even without extensive Division I experience, Clevenger is looking forward to adding Davis to the staff.
“We are excited to bring Nick to our soccer program,” Clevenger said in the release. “He brings a ton of energy and passion to the team. In his young career, Nick has some impressive experience that will be a great addition to both the goalkeepers and team overall.”
Davis will have the opportunity to coach the experienced redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Paula Flores, who will return for her second season as the Vandals’ goalkeeper, as well as true freshman Claire Manis.
Davis will add a new voice to the locker room and game both abroad and stateside to help the Vandals reach another championship and raise a trophy in Missoula this fall.
