The Vandals and head coach Thomas Ford, Jr., have been hard at work preparing for his first season as a Vandal, which will kick off with the Battle of the Palouse away against Washington State on Saturday, Aug. 30, at 7 p.m. at Martin Stadium.
Joshua Wood, Junior QB, Fresno State
The Fresno State transfer appeared in all 13 games for the Bulldogs in 2024 as a special-play situational QB. In his 13 appearances, Joshua Wood, the 6-foot-2, 200-pound QB, completed 18 of 28 attempts for 195 yards, one touchdown and one interception as a sophomore. He had 37 carries for 118 yards and six TDs on the ground.

Nathan Prichard, OL, Washington State
Pritchard announced that he would make the short move from Pullman and the Cougars to Moscow with the Vandals. At 6-foot-5 and 317 pounds, Pritchard becomes the heaviest lineman Idaho has. The Auburn, Washington, native redshirted his freshman season in 2023 and played limited time in 2024.
Gabe Hoffman TE Eastern Michigan
The 6-foot-6, 250-pound tight end from Bellevue, Washington, comes to the Vandals after spending the first two years of his career with the Eagles.
Hyson Dalton, Defensive Back, Furman
The 6’2 190-pound redshirt freshman DB played in 12 games, had 29 total tackles, 3 pass deflections, and 1 fumble recovery.
Zach Wusstig safety Portland State
Wusstig, a 6’1, 195-pound redshirt freshman safety, had 40 total tackles and 3 PDs
Women’s Basketball
Katlin Kangur, freshman Point Guard
A 5’7″ point guard from Estonia, Kangur joins the Vandals as a true freshman. The incoming floor general finished the season with 8.2 points, 5.8 and 3.5 rebounds per game. Head coach Arthur Moreira is excited to bring her to Moscow with the loss of point guard Olivia Nelson.
“Katlin is the floor general we were missing. Her IQ is very high, and she is an amazing passer. She is a strong guard who uses her body and speed well to create advantages for her on the floor,” Moreira said in a press release.
Kyra Gardner Guard Washington State
5’11” native of Raymond, Wash., comes to the Vandals after spending the previous three seasons across the Palouse at Washington State. As a Cougar, Gardner appeared in 90 games and shot .383/.310/.760 splits throughout her career, while grabbing 1.3 rebounds per contest.
“It’s exciting to have Kyra join the Vandal Family. She is an incredible athlete and a very skilled basketball player,” Moreira said in a press release. “She can create her shot in a number of different ways and will be a tough cover for guards in our conference.”
Men’s Basketball
Seth Joba, forward, Vermont
Joba comes to Idaho from the University of Vermont, where he spent two seasons with Vermont. He appeared in 42 games for them and established himself as a versatile piece in their offense that can score from the perimeter or in the paint.
“Seth is a dynamic front-court player with a special mix of skill and athleticism,” Head Coach Alex Pribble said in a press release.”
“I’m extremely excited to be a Vandal,” Joba said.
Biko Johnson, guard, Fort Lewis.
The rising fifth-year senior averaged a team-leading 16.3 PPG, second-best in the conference and a key factor in Fort Lewis’ status as one of the most explosive offenses among Division II schools in the west.”
