The ASUI election results for the 2025-26 school year were announced on Wednesday, April 16, with Seyi Arogundade and Bryant Sitts named as the new president and vice president.
Seven senate seats were also named. Preston Hardcastle, Julissa McDowell, Laishram Leikal Devi, Zac Knapp, Lance Butikofer, Bavanjeet Kaur and Jashanpreet Singh were announced as upcoming senators.
During the election announcement, Director of Internal Affairs Lalit Bansal said, “This is the most engaging campaign I have ever been a part of. The level of discussion, the tough questions asked and the passion shown by all candidates was truly inspiring.”
Martha Smith, the outgoing ASUI president, also commented on the election.

“I’m really proud of both of the campaigns, and I’m proud of my team for being transparent and ethical throughout the entire process,” Smith said. “Additionally, this is the senate body most willing to respectfully disagree with one another we’ve ever had and I’m truly proud of that.”
Reflecting on advice for the new president, she said, “It’s a lot, and you just have to enjoy it. Being ASUI President is definitely a grind and there’s a lot of pressure with it, but it’s a really rewarding position.”
