Candidates for the upcoming ASUI election met on March 26 to discuss campaigning rules and etiquette. The candidates are running for the positions of president, vice president and seven senate seats.
There are two teams running for president and vice president.
The first presidential candidate is Seyi Arogundade who is running alongside vice presidential candidate Bryant Sitts. The two currently hold positions in current ASUI President Martha Smith’s cabinet with Arogundade as the Chief of Staff and Sitts as the Director of Legislative Affairs.
“My purpose running for ASUI is to promote student first policies, not only in our campus and communities, and in the state as a whole. From making funding and resources for clubs and organizations seamless and easy, to fighting for higher education and scholarship opportunities on a state level, every Vandal deserves the ability to succeed in every capacity,” Arogundade said.

The second presidential candidate is Anya Zuercher who is running alongside vice presidential candidate Arielle Hebison. Currently, Zuercher is the Senate Pro-Tempore and Hebison is a senator.
“I am from Twin Falls/Moscow and I am studying Elementary Education. This will be my third year in ASUI, this past year I have served as the Senate Pro-Tempore. My running mate Arielle and I are really passionate we can enhance the student experience here at UIdaho and I am dedicated to finding that sense of belonging for everyone,” Zuercher said.
Hebison added, “This will be my second year on ASUI, this past year I had the privilege of serving as a senator. Anya and I want to be your next leaders of ASUI because we believe in unifying campus.
