If you’re looking for a new favorite recipe, this Korean-inspired ground turkey is it. It’s full of deep flavor, a hint of spice and will warm you right up on a chilly night. The true hero is fresh ginger. It complements the garlic and ground turkey perfectly. Best of all, this meal can come together in about 30 minutes or less. It yields 2-3 servings, so you can even have leftovers for the next day.
Ingredients for the Sauce
- ½ c. soy sauce
- 1 ½ tbsp. corn starch
- 1 tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 tsp. red pepper flakes
Ingredients for the Ground Turkey
- 2 tbsp. sesame oil
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 1 tbsp. minced ginger
- 15 oz. ground turkey
- 1 ½ c. rice
Instructions:

- Begin by cooking your rice according to package instructions. As it cooks, prepare the other ingredients. This will ensure that everything is ready around the same time.
- Dice ginger and garlic. Heat in pan with sesame oil until fragrant.
- Add ground turkey to pan and crumble. As it cooks, prepare sauce.
- In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, corn starch, brown sugar and pepper flakes. Make sure to combine corn starch well. This will act as the thickening agent of the sauce.
- Once the ground turkey has lost its raw pink color, add sauce and cook until thickened (about 1-2 minutes). Then, remove from heat.
- Optional: use this time to toast up some sesame seeds and/or chop up green onions for garnish.
- Scoop portion of rice into bowl, top with ground turkey, garnish (if desired) and enjoy!
