Happy Monday Vandals! January is coming to an end and lower temperatures have been making their debut in Moscow these past few weeks. With the cold weather looming, it can be hard to motivate yourself to go out and have some fun when it’s so enticing to stay at home bundled up in some blankets. Here’s some fun campus events to look at, providing an opportunity to get out of your house or dorm and stretch your legs!  

International Tea Social: Tea, Tutoring, Hot Cocoa and High Grades (Tuesday, Jan. 28) 

Enjoy a cozy and warm hot chocolate bar and a delicious assortment of teas at the International Programs Office Event Center at 3:30 p.m. Join their staff, Tutoring and College Success for a laid-back social and learn some tips and resources to ace this semester! Sign up here to attend. 

Pop-Culture Trivia Night (Tuesday, Jan. 28) 

Join Violence Prevention Programs at 6 p.m. in the IRIC Atrium for a fun trivia night in honor of National Stalking Awareness Month. Free drinks and snacks will be provided, and a prize will be awarded to the winning team, so gather up your strongest trivia friends!  

Backcountry Film Festival (Wednesday, Jan. 29) 

Join the Outdoor Program at the Kenworthy for the 20th annual Backcountry Film Festival at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $12 for general admission. The festival includes documentaries and movies about athletic pursuits, friendship and a fun raffle! The funds raised will go to support the Idaho Panhandle Avalanche Center and Wallowa Avalanche Center.  

“Love, Liz” (Thursday, Jan. 30) 

Clear a spot in your schedule at 7:30 p.m. to support UI’s Department of Theater Arts by joining Queen Elizabeth I and her closest friends for a night of intrigue and tales. “Love, Liz” is a humorous trip through history as Queen Elizabeth I juggles whether to marry or not. Tickets are free for UI students, so get them here. 

Black Excellence Gala (Friday, Jan. 31) 

Join the Black Student Union for a night of celebration, recognition and empowerment in the Bruce Pitman Center’s International Ballroom at 7 p.m. Relish in the remarkable achievements and honor the heritage of the Black community.  

Taste of Nepal (Sunday, Feb. 2) 

Come join the Nepali Students’ Association for its 20th year of delicious Nepali food, exciting culture and performances! This year’s theme will be “Feelings, Flavors and Festivals.” You can purchase tickets by contacting their Facebook, Instagram (@uidaho_nsa) or phone at (208) 310-1222. Ticket prices for UI students are $15, general/gate tickets are $20 and there is free entrance for children under 5.
