During ASUI’s three-hour senate meeting Wednesday night, senators voted on three bills, as well as a resolution calling for UI Athletic Director Rob Spear’s resignation.
The first bill the senate passed changed how abstentions are counted during the voting process. Before the resolution was passed, abstentions counted against the legislation. Now, they do not count for or against.
The other bill, which passed, allocated $200 from the senate budget to go toward a scholarship for students who want to attend the TEDxUIdaho event May 6.
This latest spending leaves the ASUI Senate with a budget of about $400 for the remainder of the year.

The last bill the Senate voted on established the 2018 general election ballot. Elections will be held through email from April 9 to April 11.
The resolution regarding Spear passed 10-5.
During communications, Sen. Zachary Spence said the ASUI racquetball tournament is ready and will take place Sunday. Interested students can sign up until Friday. The winner will be given a chance to play UI President Chuck Staben.
The Senate will consider a resolution to call upon UI Title IX coordinators to use an online sexual assault reporting system April 11.

It's too bad that Rob Spear didn't visualize his OWN daughter sitting in front of him when it was actually Ms. Jameson in 2013. He would have demanded endless counseling for her and more! Putting Spear on leave was right move by Chuck Stabin, although he should have done it when the story first broke. Stabin also should have kept his mouth shut on the matter other than calling for a task force investigation. He should have remained neutral in his public comments; not defending Spear! I was shocked he did that. But I'm thinking maybe there is more than one rat in the kitchen. And Petrino? It may be different here in Idaho versus where you come from so ADAPT or GET OUT!
