Latah County celebrates community heritage
Celebrate community heritage at Latah County Historical Society’s Annual Harvest Dinner Nov. 9.
Guests will celebrate with a turkey and ham dinner, live music, silent auction and quilt raffle from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Moscow Junior High School field house, 1410 E. D St.
Auction items include paintings, holiday decorations, hand crafts and hotel packages.
Tickets will be sold for $12 for adults and $6 for children ages 6 through 12, and children under 6 can get in free. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door or in advance at the historical society’s office at 327 East Second St.

Post office sets date
The United States Post Office must have all holiday mail going to U.S. troops stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan by Dec. 4 in order to get it there by Christmas.
Holiday mail going to other military overseas locations should be sent by Dec. 11.
The domestic mail price has been reduced from $12.95 to $10.95 for packages sent to military APO/FPO addresses.
The U.S. Post Office offers a delivery confirmation service for almost all APO/FPO addresses. The service provides customers with date, ZIP code and time the package was delivered.
Women’s Center provides transportation to conference
The Northwest Women’s Studies Association Regional Conference will be held on Nov. 8, and the Women’s Center is coordinating transportation for anyone interested.
There are 16 spots remaining. Anyone interested must register, $20 for faculty/staff and $15 for students. To register, visit the Women’s Center Web site to download a registration form.

Marines celebrate 233 years
The United States Marine Corps will celebrate its 233 birthday on Nov. 10. The University of Idaho Navy ROTC Semper Fidelis Platoon invites U.S. Marines from the past and present to join in the celebration.
Honoring the Marines will start at 7 p.m. at the Sandpiper Grill Restaurant, 436 Main St. in Moscow.
