‘Pocket God’ — See how your choices as God turn out

An app built for stress relief and procrastination, Pocket God allows you to play God. Whether you are merciful to your caveman subjects or just plain angry and want to kill them over and over again is up to the player.

In the world of Pocket God, you are in charge of deciding whether  the Pygmies live or die in their day to day activities.

Want to feed a pygmy to a shark while fishing? Just nudge him off the island. Want to strike a Pygmy with lightning while it’s making a fire? Just direct the lightning to the Pygmy. Would you like to sacrifice it to a giant bug so it can give birth to a swarm that will cause plague upon your people? You can do that as well. And with regular updates, there are always new and creative ways to cause utter mayhem to the Pygmies.

The graphics are creative and cartoon-like with an easy to navigate interface. Most of the fun in the game is really just exploring what you can do. Every object in each setting of Pocket God has an interesting and sometimes funny purpose- like fighting off a T-rex.

There are achievements and prizes in the game  such as the best time to outrun a hungry giant turtle or the coconut bounces on a head. The app’s mini games also have crossovers with other notable apps such as Doodle Jump.

The only complaints about this app would be the updates and how much time it takes to load. Though each update brings more fun, worlds to explore and more ways to kill of a Pygmy, sometimes the coding can be off and it requires  more updates to fix. Also, even though the creators include a guide to each world in the game, it still takes a while to figure out how to do things.

Pocket God is a large game. Even with over half of the storage space in my iPhone free, it still takes a minute or two to load the game.

Other than that, Pocket God is a fun, creative way to waste your time when you actually do have free-time to spare.
